For over 35 years the Reck Violin Shop has proudly been providing first-rate service and expertise to Iowa and the Midwest.  Our showroom houses a gallery of violins, violas, cellos, basses and bows suitable for players of all levels. From the beginner to the discerning professional, you will surely find something to fit both your budget and your musical needs.  We also stock a full range of accessories from cases, strings and rosins to tuners, metronomes and more.

All repairs and restorations are performed by owner and founder, James Reck.  A cellist and former professor of music, James’ 45 years of luthier experience will ensure that your instrument is always sounding its best.  Fully hand-carved custom instruments are also available by commission.  Instruments made by James Reck are played by performers across North America and Europe.
